Welcome to the Guardarenas Project. Here you will find important information that will help you carry out the activities proposed in the Program. Additionally, you will be able to easily access the data collected by participants throughout Puerto Rico.

Guardarenas aims to raise awareness among children, youth, and adults about the fragility of the marine and coastal environment and the need to use it sustainably. This objective is achieved through the development of critical thinking skills and conflict resolution skills. In this way, a sense of solidarity with the environment is fostered, and effective solutions are developed to address problems related to our surroundings.

This project is supported by the Educational Sector of the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) and the Natural Sciences Sector (CSI). In Puerto Rico, it is endorsed by the Sea Grant Program, an entity that coordinates activities in schools, communities, government agencies, and other organizations in the country.

Let’s start this educational experience and actively collaborate in the protection of our environment and coasts.
