Educational Guides from the Sea Grant Program
The Sea Grant Program at the University of Puerto Rico, recognizing the importance of conserving our marine and coastal resources, has designed several educational guides to assist teachers in integrating these topics into the classroom. These guides include a scientific background on each ecosystem (mangroves, seagrass meadows, and coral reefs) and climate change, a presentation with teacher notes, educational plans aligned with the standards of the Puerto Rico Department of Education, activities, laboratories, a thematic guide, and pre- and post-tests to assess student learning gains. Additionally, a DVD is included containing the aforementioned documents, along with their respective keys, allowing teachers to edit and adapt them to their level, their students’ characteristics, and the resources available in the classroom. Each set of guides includes: the teacher’s guide, the student manual, a storybook, an activity book, and a DVD.
Printed documents can be obtained from the Sea Grant Program. If you wish to order any of the guides, please contact us.
